GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION OF TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP

Speaker: Ed Mickly, “100th Anniversary of the Tobyhanna Depot, its history and its current day mission

Attendance: 38

The meeting was called to order by President Freddie Kaltenthaler. Secretary and treasurer reports were read and accepted.

Old Business: Basement files are being worked on.

New Business:

Feasibility of library expansion. Three HATT members and three library personnel have been meeting and discussing the possibility of expanding the Clymer Library. The plan is to provide more room for the library and for HATT meetings.

The library will be self-standing, and not a part of the township. Both HATT and the library will be nonprofits. Fundraising for this project will be extensive.
HATT and the library are looking into genealogy.

Inductions: New officers and board members were elected and accepted:
  • Rick Bodenschatz — President
  • Scarlett Rehrig — Vice President
  • Jeanne Dyer — Secretary
  • Fred Tim — Treasurer
  • Glenn Ryerson — Director
  • Fred Lehrer — Director

Frank McDevitt will begin the third year of a three-year term as director.

Announcements: Second Annual “Home for the Holidays” concert is scheduled for Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church. Concert is free but each person must have a ticket. Ticket release schedule is on posted signs.
